The Kitchen Linens Book

Sadly, my camera has still not returned from our vacation! Soon, I hope. Meanwhile...

This is a great new book by EllynAnne Geisel

The Kitchen Linens Book: Using, Sharing, and Cherishing the Fabrics of Our Daily Lives

This book has a few neat projects, delicious recipes and a fabulous vintage Butterick transfer in an attached envelope. If you’re into this style of textile design or collecting then you should seriously take a look at it.

This isn't really a sewing book, but rather a book about linens. The pictures are quite nice as well.

PS - It's worth noting that EllynAnne Geisel has two other books that might be noteworthy for anyone with an interest in Aprons:

The Apron Book: Making, Wearing, and Sharing a Bit of Cloth and Comfort

and

Apronisms: Pocket Wisdom for Every Day

Very cool. I saw tons of booths at Sew Expo featuring linens. Blanks for embroidery on tea towels and such. I was tempted, but was getting into enough trouble. But there is something very endearing about this sort of thing that seems to be making a resurgence in popularity. Time to get your embroidery needle out and have a go!!

When I was a kid I used to embroider like crazy...pillowcases, teacozies, and of course my jean jacket! So glad to see it coming around again. I may have to take a look at that book! Thanks

I will have to check this book out, as I do love stitching.
Thanks!
