The first one is a straight block layout with two borders:
The second is on point with brown sashing with orange cornerstones and a brown border:
SANDY: please remember that the orange focus print is brighter than my EQ6 Mockups.
LYNNE: The greens are all 'scrap' and no green one square matches another, and I think the greens in the squares are all a bit more green-y.
I love the 2nd layout.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I am not a sashing & corner stones gal, but I much prefer the second layout! Especially if the setting triangles are scrappy like the blocks. (Not that I was successful in placing them apart on my quilt...)
ReplyDeleteSecond one, no question. Just looks more complicated uhhh sophisticated.
ReplyDelete'fraid i'm gonna be boring and say what the others have said - definitely the second one - it looks stunning.

I'm the oddball here...I like the first layout. You can see the flow of the blocks into each other. In the other layout the sashing stops the block patterns from connecting to each other. I'm just sayin.
ReplyDeleteI like the first layout the best. I like the way the blocks interplay with each other. I like diagonal lines in blocks/quilts, and the diagonals in the blocks show up better in the first layout. Just my humble opinion, o'course! Either way, it will be stunning.
